At San Diego Comic-Con this week, Insomniac Games has confirmed that the multiplayer beta forResistance 3will kick off during the first week of August. Yup, that’s only two weeks away. The beta will feature two modes — Team Deathmatch and Chain Reaction — but how many and what maps will be included is unknown. There are a few ways to get into the beta, including using a voucher code found in new copies ofSOCOM 4if you’re in North America....

The episode revealed the nextTiger Woodsgame to be a simulation of the night Tiger’s life started to spiral out of control in front of everyone in the country. San Diego Comic-Con is one of the best events to see hot cosplay and great outfits. There’s so much hot cosplay here that if you tried to snap a picture of everything you’d saw, you’d never get anywhere — you’d have to stop walking every minute or so! Unfortunately, for every gorgeous face and top-notch costume, there’s another misguided attempt or failure. I suppose both make Comic-Con famous, so we should appreciate both....

We’ve complained in the past about Sega’s confusing marketing forSonic Colors, with several claims that the game is designed entirely for kids, whileSonic 4is designed for older fans. It was only a matter of time before Sony joined the rapidly developing tablet market. Today, they have announced two new tablet devices they plan to be releasing this fall. Code named “S1” and “S2”, the tablets will run Android 3.0 and will be Wi-Fi and WAN (3G/4G) compatible. While I’m a JRPG fan first, and while I love most of what comes out of Square Enix, I’ve always pictured them as a sort of Shinra Electric Power Company (fromFinal Fantasy VII) in the making.
