Crackdown gets an update; notice a difference?

Because I’ve basically been on the road for what seems like a month now (it might literally be more than a month), I haven’t really had time to check out some of the new updates for my most favorite games and such. The latest update that is near and dear to my heart is the most recent fix forCrackdown(you know, that gamethat rocksmy tire-shooting world). According toMajor Nelson, here’s what got patched up:...

Create a level for Bionic Commando: Rearmed and it could be featured in the game

Capcom has a cool new contest going on right now that involves you designing a challenge level for the upcoming downloadable game,Bionic Commando: Rearmed. Whoever comes up with the best design will not only have their creation included in the actual game itself, but will also appear in the credits. While this type of contest may not be a new concept by any means, that’s not to say it isn’t an awesome way to spawn creativity and grant one lucky winner some serious bragging rights....

When pressed for news onDawn of War III, Relic marketing manager James McDermott was surprisingly up front about the direction of the new Warhammer 40,000 strategy title. Don’t Cry: Devil May Cry 4 to be a bit kinder, says producer

Kinder? Maybe, but don’t expect the upcoming PS3 and Xbox 360 game to be any easier than the controller-crushingDevil May Cry 3. Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi tells Eurogamer in a recent interview thatDevil May Cry 4may be a bit easier to get along with, but she’s still a tough bitch. “We had to learn a lesson there, actually, because DMC3 wasreallydifficult. What we found was that people sometimes lost interest within the first two hours because the game just wasn’t giving them any chance whatsoever,” said Kobayashi....

DSi sells half a million units in November

Even though we’re on the third iteration of Nintendo’s two-screened portable, gamers are still buying it like it was the hottest, newest thing. In Japan, during the month of November, gamers snapped up 535,379 DSi units, saysGamesIndustry. This number was just short of the DS Lite’s first month numbers of 550,000. The total number of DS platform consoles sold? 24,239,590. Wow. I wonder how the first-week US DSi sales will compare....

E3 09: first footage of Final Fantasy XIII for 360

This morning’sMicrosoft press conferencebrought many exciting announcements for gamers (and there are still more to come!), but by far my favorite was seeing the very first footage ofFinal Fantasy XIIIon the Xbox 360. The game looks as crisp and beautiful as you would expect, and we got a look at a summon spell, which brought the legendary Odin to the table to kick ass and take names. The release date for the Xbox 360 version ofFinal Fantasy XIIIwas also confirmed for Spring 2010, which is a little bit more info than we knew before....

E3 10: Atlus announces Trine 2; online co-op and more

Last year Atlus showed off an impressive array of major titles likeTrauma Center, andDemon Souls— which, no doubt, continues to print cash. They also had a host of hot Asian nurses willing to pose in exchange for covering us in annoying band-aid stickers, but I don’t think anyone complained. While their showing this year may have lacked the fanfare or booth babes, Atlus has managed to give us some interesting new titles to look forward to....

E3 10: Take a look at this sweet Crackdown 2 gameplay

Crackdown 2might not have been a focal point of Microsoft’s E3 keynote, but it’s still on the show floor in playable form. Though the series has shifted developers from Realtime Worlds to Ruffian Games, all the things that made the first game so much fun — the crazy jumps, the chases and the firefights — seem to be in the sequel, at least in the gameplay video above. Plus, check out the new look for the player’s Agent....

E3: Dtoid Discusses: The Nintendo press conference

All three platform holders’ E3 press conferences have now come and gone. Nintendo was the last to go, with a briefing scheduled for noon EDT on Tuesday, June 7, and the company had easily the most anticipated press conference of the show. Nintendo pulled back the curtain on its next console, the Wii U, although many important details on the system remain unknown. The company also spent time on the celebrations lined up for the 25th anniversary of theZeldafranchise, and promised that some desirable 3DS software is actually on the way....
