First two Borderlands DLC packs hit retail next month

Here I was under the impression that the disc-basedBorderlandsadd-on pack bundle was already out and had been out since late last month. Whoops! It turns out that retail won’t be getting a dose of “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned”or “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot” until April 6 (April 9 for our international friends). The two-pack collection costs $19.99, so you won’t be saving any money versus buying the digital download copies....

Free App of the Day: Gravity Guy

Gravity Guyis one of my favorite iOS games on the market, so there’s no contest for today’s freebie. The gravity-shifting runner game costs nothing right now, and it’s easily one of the best Apps that FAotD has ever featured. The bright graphics, cool music, and increasingly challenging gameplay makes this one that should not be missed. In fact, if you don’t get it, you’re a damn cock. So sort it out!...

Games Media Awards: the images (quantifiably NSFW)

Having vague and hazy recollections of this week’sGames Media Awards, I found myself quite looking forward to going over the photos and video from the night so that I could piece together everything that went on. Alas my friends, I was sadly disappointed, as the GMA was not an event which promoted coherence, and the snatched recordings we came away with were no match for debauched power of the evening....

GDC 2007: I am 8-Bit preview

Day one of GDC was like a long warm up: lots of walking the floor, checking out the setup and meeting old and new friends. It launches April 17th in lovely Los Angeles at the1988 Gallery, much to the pleasure of geeks everywhere. If you like game art as much as I do, this event is not to be missed....

Gears of War Imulsion drink exists … seriously

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Imulsion, abrand new drinkthat emulates the mutating fuel source fromGears of War. This is actually happening! The cans will cost $2.99 a pop, and it’s likely some sort of energy drink since this comes from the same chaps responsible for the sugar-ladenStreet Fighterliquids....

Infinity Ward is working on its ‘next big project’

More than a few of us media folk have been wearing our Michael Pachter “Super Martian Prediction Hats” ($12.99) and saying that Infinity Ward will be gutted as a result of its recent losses of top-tier staff. In light of what we’ve learned from the Activision financial earnings call, that scenario doesn’t seem so likely. CEO Bobby Kotick revealed that the studio is working on “their next big project.” What that project is, of course, is anyone’s guess (the hat is only $12....

Interview: Suda51 on Shadows of the Damned

I love anything and everything Suda51 does, so it should go without saying that I’m looking forward toShadows of the Damned. Suda51 was on hand at GDC showing off his upcoming game, and while Nick Chester was busy interviewing baby heads, I had the privilege of talking to Suda about his gold shoes. Oh, and we also talked about the game and what the Suda51 thought process is like. If I sound nervous, it’s because I was....
