3D Dot Game Heroes screenshots: Not the bees!

As someone who is sick to death of modern Japanese RPGs and all their overfamiliar tropes, I find the idea of3D Dot Game Heroes— a game that mercilessly parodies Japanese RPGs and all their overfamiliar tropes — to be thoroughly refreshing. There isn’t enough parody in gaming, and this one looks like it’ll be awesome. Here are a bunch of new screenshots for the game, courtesy ofAndria Sang. The blocky art style has been made beautiful on the PS3, demonstrating that simplicity can often look as good as, if not better than, your average gritty explosions-and-lighting-effects AAA game....

A Guide To Recognizing Your Gamers: Chapter 10

This my friends, will be the last chapter of the Guide for now. I’ve loved writing it, and I’ve loved even more the feedback you guys have given me and the discussions we’ve had as a result of this series. It’s been the most fun I’ve had writing in a long time, and the reaction it’s had from you lot has been better than I ever could have imagined when I envisioned it as a silly throw-away one-off article all those months ago....

These new images don’t really reveal anything new. They more or less stick to what we already know aboutAlan Wake— there is lots of walking around with a torch in very dark places that no sensible man would be walking around in....

Art Attack Friday: wandamagick

Wandamagick (akaIcecream Katana) serves up a generous spoonful ofkawaiifanart for today’s Art Attack Friday feature. With a rather large bredth of gaming experience, Wandamagick pulls characters, fromViva PiñatatoBioShock, into her utterly charming world of cute. While toyouit may seem sacrilegious for her to have transformed the likes of Sander Cohen and Diane McClintock intocheek-pinchable rascalsin her fanfic LittleRapture, tomeit’s nothing less than sacr’adorable. Alright, so I’ve made my point. I think her fanart is pretty swell, and her keen sense of humor definitely seals the deal for me....
