Suda 51’s next game is called Sine Mora

Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture have announced a co-development partnership that will see a number of games come from duo. The first project from this union is called Sine Mora and is going to be a side-scroller with “unique time manipulation mechanics.” Additionally, the new game “takes advantage of the newest in 3D display technology to liver an horizontal side-scrolling shooter unlike any other.” I’m still hesitant when it comes to 3D tech, but if anyone can pull of something good, it’s the house that brought usNo More Heroes....

Sundays with Sagat: What’s a videogame for?

[Sundays with Sagat is a video series where a man named Sagat talks to you about videogames. This is serious business.] Welcome to the premiere episode ofSundays with Sagat, a new Destructoid-exclusive video series. This week, Sagat takes on the age old question; “what’s a videogame?” I’m told that this is a subject that Sagat has had to address many times. Most of his family back in Thailand has never played a videogame before, so when Sagat tries to explain to them what he’s doing for work these days, he pretty much has to start from scratch....

Super Meat Boy on WiiWare not happening after all

A touch of sad news on theSuper Meat Boyfront, I’m afraid. It seems those desperately awaiting a Wii-compatible version of the game are going to be in for a longer, if not indefinite, wait. “There will not be a WiiWare version ofSMB,”reads a Tweetfrom Team Meat. “We are looking in to retail Wii, bit it’s also looking grim. Still looking though.” If you recall, there were concerns with size limitations and Team Meat not wanting to split the content up into multiple installments....

The Great Retro Quiz! .05: The Virtual Console (N64)

To complete the “triforce” of Nintendo systems on theVirtual Console, this week’s quiz is all about theNintendo 64(the Triforce ofCourage, if you will, to theNES’sWisdomandSNES’sPower). But to make things less daunting and broad, only the N64 games available on the Wii’s download service will be featured. Honestly, I feel bad for the Nintendo 64. Due to some unfortunate choices (cartridge format over disc-based) and a severe lack of games, the awesome system marked the start of Nintendo’s decade-long decline in the great videogame wars....

After an unfortunateone-week hiatus, The Great Retro Quiz! is back, although a little bit worn out from all the traveling and unhealthy amounts of eating. The Jimquisition: Pirates, admit you’re f*cking thieves

If there’s one thing that annoys about piracy, it’s the excuses. If you’re into piracy, whatever, but don’t try to dress it up as something it’s not. The flawed logic and the sense of entitlement is the thing that really annoys me, and that’s the subject of this week’s video. So yeah, watch it if you want!
