Guild Wars 2is out of the closet. Earlier this morning NCSoft rolled out a startling and compelling trailer for the 2007-announced PC MMO. Hovering over plot points, but also revealing some key art and a few in-game cuts, MMO enthusiasts should be more than delighted with the four-minute offering. After all, it has all the fantasy MMO conventions: dragons, creepy little girls, plate armor, and the promise of epic adventure....

“We are going to make the greatest MMO ever made.” Big words from ArenaNet considering the competition it has. None the less, they are confident of success against MMORPG’s that already have an established base of players that number into the millions. The will be doing this by not just appealing to the dyed in the wool MMO player but also those, like myself, who have no real interest in the genre....

Following Internet rumblings that made Bungie’s next game out to be along the lines ofWorld of Warcraftin space, lead network engineer David Aldridge responded that it isn’t. He did say, according to IGN, that the project is a “massively multiplayer action game,” though. Is this a case of semantics? Quite possibly. Don’t know for sure yet, but I’ll tell you what I do know: the only reason I posted this was the absurdly dumb image....

In the wake of Tim Kretchmer’s gun rampage in a South German school, hysteria surrounding videogames is getting more and more ridiculous. As you can see in the above picture,Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Warsis subject tosome ridiculously excessive warning stickers, because one age rating simply isn’t enough. It seems that Germany is really going over the top with its videogame panic right now. The USK rating doesn’t seem to be enough anymore, with a huge red warning sign over-emphasizing the point....

Black Sigilis a Nintendo DS gameto be published by Graffiti Entertainment. Watching the above trailer, it looks like a 16-bit role-playing game, showing some strong similarities toChrono TriggerandFinal Fantasy VI. It may not have the polish that these two classics have, but it definitely looks and sounds interesting....

This week’s episodeof Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin’ is aboutRock Band. Sort of. I don’t think Ash and I have ever playedRock Bandtogether, come to think of it. A lot of people also seem to get some sort of incestuous vibe from this episode, which really isn’t intended. Just throwing that out there.
