Battlefield 3went into beta yesterday, and despite some controversy with people not getting their codes when promised, things have kicked off relatively smoothly. I got to spend time with the PC version of the game, and I’ve come awaymostlyimpressed. WithBattlefield 3, my one major worry was that so much time had been spent on the graphics, the actual important stuff would feel lacking in energy. Having finally tested out the “Rush” mode presented in the demo, my fears have taken a dramatic downturn and my hopes have conversely boosted....

DICE is working on putting together VIP Map Pack 7 forBattlefield: Bad Company 2, and it’s the most interesting add-on content for the game in quite a while. It’s being designed for you, the people still faithfully playing. As always, the download will be free if you purchased a new copy. The pack includes “Oasis” and “Harvest Day” from the originalBad Company‘smultiplayer, plus “Cold War” and “Heavy Metal” fromBFBC2single-player. I never got around to playing the previous installment, but people in the comments on theofficial blog posthave been freaking out over this....

Capcom has announced today that a demo for its upcoming third-person re-imagining of the classicBionic Commandowill be coming to Xbox LIVE in the coming weeks. The demo will focus on thegame’s multiplayer, in particular the Deathmatch mode. The demo will feature one of the game’s 16 multuiplayer maps, “Vertigo,” and will support up to 8-players. No word on a PlayStation 3 or PC demo yet, so start crying now. I’ve had a chance to playBionic Commandoa number of times over the past year, and I’m still not sure what gamer’s reactions will be....
